I came across Placenta Shampoo at a Walmart. It’s usually made of sheep placenta and popular in some Spanish-speaking countries.

It is supposed to make your hair shinier according to the manufacturer.

Did you know that September is National Potato Month? Did you know that September is also National Rice Month? Neither did I. It’s kind of ridiculous how many official food holidays there are.

That makes this the perfect photo to celebrate both.

Puto is a Filipino steamed rice cake often eaten as dessert or breakfast. It is also a derogatory term in Spanish for gay men or prostitutes, but I assure you these puto are not prostitutes. This photo is what happens when you buy too much puto and have too much time.

Yolo Street in Los Angeles County claims the title as the Most Dangerous Street in America mainly because of foolhardy teens living by the mantra YOLO (You Only Live Once).

YOLO was made famous by rap artist Drake who uses it regularly during performances. It has since been used by people often in a sarcastic or humorous manner on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media networks.

I wonder if #YOLO will be on Drake’s tombstone.

Jesus Takes Me on Angel’s Flight

It was during a funk concert at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles that I saw Him.

Apparently Jesus likes funk.

We talked a few minutes. Then He asked if I’ve ever been on Angel’s Flight.

I said no, and He was taken aback.

“Well you have to go, my treat,” He said.

I shrugged my shoulders and said, “Alright,” although He didn’t really wait for an answer. I mean how can you resist a freebie from Jesus.

So Jesus spotted me 50 cents.

As we walked onto the trolley, everybody’s eyes were glued to Him. It was a tight squeeze for Jesus because He’s a towering fellow and it was a small entrance. The whole time I was playing “What if God Was One of Us” in my head.

At the bottom of the hill, Jesus asked me to take a picture; an iPhone miraculously appeared from His robe. Jesus stood in the middle of the walkway with His hands gently extended out as if welcoming someone into Heaven.

Some stared. Others took photos. Most looked confused. He liked the photos I took and played around with them on Instagram. I knew Jesus was a hipster.

Overall, He seemed like a genunely nice fellow, although a little taller than expected. I’m not sure why He dresses as Jesus but He has a popular tumblr I Saw Jesus In LA.

I got Jesus’ phone number and He agreed to having His portrait taken sometime. I’m trying to think of what I should do for His portrait.

Any suggestions?

Metapod used Harden.

Metapod is a Pokemon character often made fun of because its main ability is Harden, which basically just serves as protection against attacks. It eventually evolves into a Butterfree at level 10.

James Harden is known for his scoring off the bench and decision making. He was recently awarded the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year. But he is known mostly for his beard.

He also was elbowed by Metta World Peace, aka Ron Artest, earlier in the season.

Fred Astaire greatly influenced dance through American cinema. One famous dance routine was Puttin’ on the Ritz. Puto on the other hand, are not really known for dance but like to occasionally sit atop Ritz crackers and wear top hats. It makes them feel superior.

Awake features an LA detective who survives a car accident and wakes up in a world where nothing is certain.

In one world his son died. In the other his wife died. So whenever he closes his eyes in one world he enters the other. It was a really interesting concept with lots of story possibilities and interpretations. My interpretation was this dude must have been really sleepy.

It’s a shame it ended so soon. Hopefully now he’ll be able to get some sleep.

I’m watching American Idol tonight since my Mom called yesterday urging me to vote 10 times online, 10 times on the phone, and to tell all my friends to do the same. So along with thousands of other Filipinos I casted my vote for Jessica Sanchez.
